Community Guidelines
Last updated April 20, 2026
1. Our Community Values
Collectd is a community built for collectors and fans. Whether you collect trading cards, vinyl records, sneakers, or anything in between, we want everyone to feel welcome here. These guidelines exist to keep Collectd a friendly, safe, and genuine place for all.
2. The Rules
- Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or personal attacks. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated.
- Keep it appropriate. No sexually explicit, violent, or graphic content. Collectd is for sharing collections, not shocking people.
- Be honest. No impersonation, spam, or misleading content. Don't pretend to be someone you're not.
- Respect intellectual property. Cataloguing items you own — using album names, card names, product names, and cover images for identification — is generally fine. Don't upload full-resolution copies of work you don't own, redistribute copyrighted material, or pass off others' work as your own. Give credit where it's due.
- No harmful activities. No phishing, malware, doxxing, or encouraging self-harm. Keep the community safe.
- Keep collections genuine. Collections should represent real collecting interests. Don't use them for spam or advertising.
3. What Happens When Rules Are Broken
We take a graduated approach to enforcement. What happens depends on the severity of the violation and whether it's a first-time or repeated issue:
- Warning — For minor or first-time violations. We'll let you know what went wrong so you can avoid it in the future.
- Content removal — Offending content is removed from Collectd. You'll be notified about what was removed and why.
- Temporary ban — Repeated violations may result in temporary loss of access to your account.
- Permanent ban — Serious or continued violations lead to permanent removal from Collectd.
The severity of the violation and your history determine which action we take. We always aim to be fair and proportionate.
4. How We Moderate
We use a combination of automated tools and human review to keep Collectd safe:
- Automated tools: Profanity filters and AI-powered content screening help us catch issues early, before they reach the community.
- Human moderators: All final enforcement decisions are made by real people. Automated tools flag potential issues, but humans make the call.
5. How to Report
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, please let us know. You can report any collection, item, or profile using the report button. Your report will be reviewed by our team.
Reports are confidential. The person you report will not know who reported them. We take reporter privacy seriously.
6. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, you can appeal. Reach out to us via our contact page and we'll review your case. Where possible, appeals are reviewed by a different administrator than the one who made the original decision.
7. Relationship to Terms of Service
These Community Guidelines supplement our Terms of Service. They're written in plain language to make our expectations clear, but in case of any conflict between these guidelines and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail.
